Good resolutions all - I admire your engagement. However, I tire of complaints regarding "activist judges". This is a term that comes exclusively from the right and needs reexamination.

There is a knee-jerk reaction that any judge that doesn't poll the people before making a decision is an agenda-following "activist judge". Judges, though, are supposed to interpret the law and the constitution. To assume that judges who disagree with even a majority of citizens are "activists" is to misread the situation.

Horray for you, Larry.

I'll add another one: I will identify at least one organization in my community that supports my values at legislation or election time and I will work with that organization throughout the year in some way, however small.

A pro-life group I'm with takes a pro-life booth to churches and any public events we can get into. Some of the events are purely health oriented. However, others are more issue-action-oriented. I'm going to be taking copies of the New Years' Resolutions to those action-oriented fairs. We have an rather festive annual meeting once a year for everyone and this set of resolutions will be at the next one.

Go, Jane!

I will not vote for anybody who supports the killing of unborn babies.
