Girl Scouts 97th Birthday (Nothing to Celebrate)

with 45 comments

Wisdom and respect are the normal benefits of the aging process.  Not so with the Girl Scouts USA!  As the Girl Scouts turn 97 today, there is not much to celebrate.  Membership is down. Cookie sales have dwindled and they are floundering around trying to be relevant.

Yes, the GSUSA is dumping the “dorky” vests and “singalongs” around the campfire (the words of others, not my own) in an effort to be “cool” and “edgy.”   It’s sad, really, like a senior citizen shopping for a bikini and getting a tattoo in an effort to be noticed.  Read the rest of this entry »

Girl Scouts go hard-left and downhill

with 26 comments

“Change” was the buzz word for the Obama campaign. Change was also the buzz word at the 51st Girl Scout National Council Session and Convention held earlier this month in Indianapolis, Indiana. It stands as further proof that change is not always for the better.

However, much of the current emphasis has been on the recruitment of adults who are being trained to become “guides” for the girls on these journeys.

Many believe that the new program is an indoctrination into the New Age movement. Read the rest of this entry »

The Girl Scouts Journey to the New Age

with 43 comments

Before you take a journey, you need to know the destination. This summer the Girl Scouts are inviting members to set out a journey of “change” that is billed as a “leadership experience.” However, it was inspired by a New Age group and it may take you or your daughter to a place that is not compatible with your faith or values. Don’t Buy the Cookies!

with 66 comments

I used to dread this time of year. In the month of March, Girl Scouts are out in force in their smart little green and brown uniforms selling cookies. There was a time I would buy a box from every girl I encountered as a payback for my positive scouting experience.

However, buying that box of cookies now presents a moral dilemma as the Girl Scouts have become a training ground for the left-wing feminist agenda.
