Don’t call the immigration bill before the United States Senate an “amnesty bill.” That gives the marauders masquerading as legislators an excuse to call you a “mean-spirited racist.”When you use the word “amnesty,” they look down their out-of-joint noses at you and treat your objection as a simple difference of opinion (their’s being infinitely superior). Continue reading “Don’t call it Amnesty!”

Dems get Religion
I accidentally tuned into a rerun on CNN of a forum on religion, faith and politics where the Democrats’ leading presidential candidates – Clinton, Obama and Edwards – were given a chance to strut their stuff. Continue reading “Dems get Religion”
Why Abstinence Education Is about to Go Away
It appears the federal grant program that made abstinence education available to public schools will be allowed to expire at the end of this month, despite the fact these programs have helped cut the rate of teen sexual activity, teen pregnancy and abortion. Continue reading “Why Abstinence Education Is about to Go Away”
Don’t You Dare!
We dodged a bullet when the Senate went home for the Memorial Day recess without passing the immigration bill that would grant amnesty to millions of people who have come here illegally and open the floodgates for another barrage of so-called “temporary” guest workers. Continue reading “Don’t You Dare!”
A modern-day Paul Revere
The compromise immigration bill brokered by Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl that would grant amnesty to millions of people now living in our country illegally has left most Americans feeling powerless. However, there is one bright light in the blackness presently covering the immigration abyss. Continue reading “A modern-day Paul Revere”
How to Pick the next President
After watching the first presidential debate, I had this sinking feeling. It was too pathetic for comedy and too trivial for tragedy. There were 10 candidates on stage, but the pundits told us that it was all about the big three: Giuliani, McCain and Romney. Well, the big three left a lot to be desired. Continue reading “How to Pick the next President”
Why the Media Shunned Jessica Lynch
Last week, Jessica Lynch, America’s media sweetheart in 2003, testified before Henry Waxman’s House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform beside Kevin Tillman, whose brother, Pat, was killed in a friendly fire incident in Afghanistan. This is the first time the former POW has made a major public appearance in three and a half years, and the media yawned. Why did the press give the West Virginia beauty the cold shoulder this time around? Continue reading “Why the Media Shunned Jessica Lynch”
Can’t We Agree This Is Reprehensible?
Justice Anthony Kennedy did the unthinkable when writing the majority opinion for Gonzales v. Carhart, the 5-4 Supreme Court decision that upheld the federal partial-birth abortion ban. He described this procedure with painstaking detail, exposing this barbaric practice to the harsh light of day. Furthermore, he referred to the subject targeted for destruction as an “infant,” not a “fetus.” Continue reading “Can’t We Agree This Is Reprehensible?”
Planned Parenthood Keeping Women in the Dark
Planned Parenthood is the most dangerous organization in America today!
In 1984, I was taken aback by those words. They were uttered by Dr. Bernard Nathanson as I was interviewing him for a documentary on abortion called “A Matter of Choice.” Nathanson once ran the largest abortion facility in the state of New York. After the development of realtime ultrasound imaging, which opened a window to the womb, he became an ardent defender of the preborn.
When Dr. Nathanson, first made that statement, I thought he was some kind of nut! What possibly could be wrong with helping married women plan their families? Continue reading “Planned Parenthood Keeping Women in the Dark”
Jesus: Son of God, or Great Teacher?
This day is called “Maundy Thursday” or “Holy Thursday.” Christians observe it as the day that Jesus served the Last Supper to his disciples and washed their feet before He was betrayed and crucified. Maundy is taken from the Latin “mandatum,” the first word of the phrase “Mandatum novum do vobis ut diligatis invicem sicut dilexi vos.” (A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another as I have loved you.) That statement was to explain why He performed a duty that normally was given to the lowest of servants. Some 2,000 years after his death, Jesus remains one of the most controversial figures who has ever walked the face of the Earth.
