What is a “wetland”?This is not a trick question, but it is important that we get it right.

It is the key to an issue that goes to the very core of what constitutes a free country: the right to own and control property.

Most reasonable people would give a simple answer to that simple question: A “wetland” is a wet land – land that is under water at least most of the time. Is the military about to “cut and run” over the issue of allowing open homosexuals to serve in our Armed Forces? The answer is “yes.”More correctly, military leaders and those charged with the oversight of the military are about to cut and run.

The Environmental Protection Agency is a polluter’s worst nightmare. If there is a toxic waste dump, the EPA is on it like grease on a mechanic. If there is a noxious emission, the EPA gets its nose out of joint faster than ice melts at the equator.

Now, it seems, the agency itself needs a cleanup of sorts. Thanks to some sleuthing at the American Family Association and Concerned Women for America’s Culture & Family Institute, we know that this agency is doing a little polluting of its own by celebrating Gay Pride Month.

These are dangerous times in Washington. President Bush is trying to chide the House of Representatives into a “compromise” with the Senate on the immigration bill. He wants amnesty for illegal aliens and a horde of new “guest” workers – skilled and unskilled – who will work for half of what employers have to pay American workers, in return for empty promises about securing the border. Behind the scenes, the White House is arm twisting your representative in Congress.
