Real Immigration Reform: What’s Missing

We have a crisis on our souther border.  President Obama’s solution is to ask Congress for $3.8 billion dollars to process and care for these children who are illegally crossing into our country at an unprecedented rate.  This, of course, would only be a down payment because, if these children aren’t immediately returned to their home country, thousands more will be on their way.

Meanwhile, Obama is flying the children, many of whom are sick and diseased, around the country and dumping them in selected communities without so much as a warning to local officials.

This must stop, not only for the good of the country, but for the welfare of these children!  Obama’s policy and lack of enforcement are causing poor Central American parents to put their children into the care of smugglers in hopes of using them as anchors into the United States.  Sadly, many of these young people are mistreated and raped along the way!   Continue reading “Real Immigration Reform: What’s Missing”

Republicans more Fun than Democrats

In a recent New York magazine interview, Saturday Night Live boss Lorne Michaels revealed an interesting fact that gives us some insight as to why late night TV hosts are more likely to demean Republicans than Democrats.  “Republicans are easier for us than Democrats,” said Michaels.  “Democrats tend to take it personally; Republicans think it’s funny.”

In other words, Democrats have no sense of humor.  They take themselves much too seriously while Republicans can laugh at themselves. Continue reading “Republicans more Fun than Democrats”

Twas the Night before Cliffmas

(With Apologies to Clement Clark Moore, Henry Livingston, Jr. or  Anonymous)

Twas the night before Cliffmas, when all through the House

Republicans were wondering if their leader was a man or a mouse;

The parameters for the budget talks had been set out with care,

In hopes that a compromise soon would be there.

The taxpayers were uneasy, not snug in their beds,

While visions of higher rates danced in their heads;

And mom with her checkbook and dad with the bills,

Had just settled down with a bottle of pills, Continue reading “Twas the Night before Cliffmas”

Democrats Demand Your Fair Share

I was born into the Democrat Party. When I became old enough to question my family’s political roots, I was told, “Democrats are the party that cares about working people and the poor.” That was good enough for me until I reached the age reason and began to think for myself.

It was all a big lie!

I am not saying that my family deliberately lied to me. It was just that they had accepted the conventional wisdom of the day, which is still hanging around.

“Repeat a lie often enough and it will be believed.” The theory espoused by Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda minister has been used effectively by politicians of all political stripes but most effectively by Democrats in this country to create a dependent class. Defending Elizabeth Warren

Let me make one thing perfectly clear:  If I lost my mind and moved to Taxachusetts, I would not vote for Elizabeth Warren for the U.S. Senate.  Truth is, Warren, who misrepresented herself as a minority in order to gain affirmative action status and get a job at Harvard, would be unlikely to get my vote for dog catcher in “The Old Colony” or any other state.

The fact that Warren has Roseanne Barr campaigning for her is all you really need to know about her challenge to Scott Brown, R-Mass, for the seat once held by Teddy Kennedy.  Warren is a left-wing opportunist who never sees a government program she doesn’t like and alternately beats the tomtoms of class warfare, angry feminism and gay activism in her bid to hitch a ride to Washington.

That said, the latest attack against her is over-the-top.  Last weekend, the Boston Herald reported that this Cherokee wannabe, who has railed against predatory banks and heartless foreclosures, had, in the 90’s, turned a tidy profit by purchasing foreclosed homes and flipping them. The latest Feminist Farce

Women, listen up!  You are about to be bombarded with a series of falsehoods in an attempt to fool you into voting for Democrats and Barack Obama in the fall.  These people are not your protectors or even your friends. Friends don’t mislead friends.

The latest political gambit is the Paycheck Fairness Act.  Beware of the false label.  It should be labeled the Paycheck Rareness Act because it will lead to fewer jobs and lower pay, something none of us can afford.

It is built on a bridge of lies, which, when exposed, comes tumbling down.  Unfortunately, most don’t get beyond the label.  Continue reading “The latest Feminist Farce”

The Unwanted Christmas Gift

Ronald Reagan correctly stated that the nine most terrifying words in the English language are “I’m from the government and I’m here to help.”

The very last thing we need is a new government agency micromanaging the financial decisions of banks, businesses and individuals. We already have seven powerful entities tasked with the oversight of the banking, lending and investment industries.

We have the Federal Reserve. We have the Comptroller of the Currency. We have the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. We have the Securities and Exchange Commission. We have the Commodities Futures Trading Commission. We have the National Credit Union Administration and the Federal Housing Finance Agency. They have done such a wonderful job. Just look at the mess we’re in!

Now, the Obama Administration and the Democrats have given us a new, onerous, unaccountable regulatory agency with virtually unlimited power to control all of our money that isn’t hidden under a rock somewhere. It’s called the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. If you are the least bit familiar with Washington, the name alone is enough to leave you shaking in your boots. Bribery!

What is your price, the price you would take to sell out your country? What price would you take to sell out your children? What price would you take to sell out your grandmother?

Would you sell out your country for a million dollars, a billion perhaps? What is the freedom that you now enjoy really worth? If you had a cool billion in your pocket, would you be willing to take your chances in another part of the world, under a dictator perhaps?

What about the future of your children? Okay, I will admit to considering this question on one of their really bad days, but let’s be serious. Most of us wouldn’t take a billion to trash the future of our own flesh and blood. And Granny? You’ve got to be kidding!

Nevertheless, President Barack Obama, most Democrats and, sadly, many Republican leaders think you are willing to sell out your country, your kids and Granny for a mere thousand bucks.

Obama needs a Sister Souljah Moment

The occupiers of Wall Street were silent as the President of the United States approached the podium in downtown Manhattan and begin to speak. Obama was expected to embrace the protesters bu,t much to their surprise, he delivered a stinging attack.

You have disgraced yourself by your public displays of indecency, the disrespect for your fellow citizens who live and work here and by trashing this park and the restrooms of nearby merchants. Just look at some of the signs you are carrying. ‘Jump you F—ers,’ pigs in police uniforms and ‘Shoot Sperm not Bullets.’ Is that who you really are? Kill the Messenger!

In ancient times, it was not unusual to kill a messenger who brought bad news.  Many of the great prophets in the Bible suffered unspeakable treatment and even death.  Tradition has it that the prophet Isaiah was sawn in half.

These dedicated men of old were desperately trying to warn their countrymen to keep them from  a horrible fate but few listened, especially those who had the power to change things.  Most rulers simply surrounded themselves with “yes” men.    Little has changed.

King Obama, who had never run so much as a lemonade stand, has surrounded himself with tax cheats and economic “yes” men like Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who admitted that he has “never had a real job.”  The same holds true for most other members of his royal court.  The notable exception is his chief of staff, Bill Daley, the token businessman — a sop to “diversity.” Continue reading “Kill the Messenger!”
