My last column brought out some crazies, largely due to the attention-catching headline that included Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the youngest member of Congress. For the record, columnists do not write headlines. That is the job of the editor or another specialist.
That column https://www.wnd.com/2019/03/aoc-was-a-girl-scout-just-say-no-to-the-cookies/ really was’t about Ocasio-Cortez, although the young do tend to believe that the world revolves around them. Nevertheless, she received a lot of publicity, largely from lazy writers and political pundits parroting her Twitter remarks. I was called a neanderthal, dumb, delusional, a tool of the patriarchy, racist, bigot and a number of other names I cannot mention here.
Why is it that liberals feel it is necessary to call you names when they disagree with you politically? Continue reading “Two Value Systems – Two Economic Systems (Choose Wisely)”
Fidel Castro is dead and Cubans in the United States and other free countries say, “Good riddance!” Meanwhile, the good Citizens in this communist state must fake tears and mourn for the dearly departed dictator or there will be hell to pay.
Unfortunately, life will not change for the people of Cuba because of Fidel’s passing for brother Raul has picked up where his evil brother left off.
Nevertheless, I am appalled at how, in the wake of the elder Castro’s death, major networks, even the more conservative Fox News Channel, continue to perpetuate myths about his educational and health care achievements. Continue reading “Castro’s Myths Exposed”
Bernie Sanders, a socialist, has achieved quite a following in the race for the Democratic nomination for president. How many of his followers really know what he stands for?
There was a telling moment in the first Democratic presidential debate in which Anderson Cooper tried to pin him down. It took several tries but Cooper finally backed him into a corner when he said, “You don’t consider yourself a capitalist, though?”
Sander’s final answer to that simple question was, “No I don’t.”
Sanders calls himself a democratic socialist so what exactly is that? Continue reading “What is Democratic Socialism?”
The current crisis at the border due to the influx of thousand of young people and some children has tugged at our heartstrings and rightfully so.
The U.S. is a welcoming country. We grant permanent legal status to a million applicants a year and temporary visas to countless others as tourists, students or the much abused H-1B program where businesses import workers claiming they can’t find qualified U.S. citizens to fill their job requirements. In addition, we admit thousands more as refugees fleeing persecution based on religion, race, nationality, political opinion or membership in a particular social group.
Despite what you may have heard, the illegals crossing our southern border do not fall into the refugee category. Most are from Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras. The problems in these countries are nothing new. All of these governments receive aid from the U.S. but they are inept and fraught with corruption. Every generation needs heroes. However the elevation of Nelson Mandela to sainthood by an adoring world is not only wrong, it is a slap in the face to all those who suffered irreparable loss directly by his hands or by the hands of African National Congress/South African Communist Party mobs.
Mandela denied any involvement in the Soviet-backed SACP, which is tantamount to denying that his hands were not part of his body. There are numerous pictures of Mandela by the side of SACP leader Joe Slovo underneath the hammer and sickle, hands raised, giving the communist clinched-fist salute http:/theconservativemonster.com/?
Mandela was one of the people who helped transform the ANC from an organization dedicated to bringing about reform through peaceful political means into one committed to the violent overthrow of the government.
Mandela was charismatic and adept at political expediency, often doing what was right, but often doing what most certainly was wrong. Continue reading “No Tears for Mandela”
