Real Immigration Reform: What’s Missing

We have a crisis on our souther border.  President Obama’s solution is to ask Congress for $3.8 billion dollars to process and care for these children who are illegally crossing into our country at an unprecedented rate.  This, of course, would only be a down payment because, if these children aren’t immediately returned to their home country, thousands more will be on their way.

Meanwhile, Obama is flying the children, many of whom are sick and diseased, around the country and dumping them in selected communities without so much as a warning to local officials.

This must stop, not only for the good of the country, but for the welfare of these children!  Obama’s policy and lack of enforcement are causing poor Central American parents to put their children into the care of smugglers in hopes of using them as anchors into the United States.  Sadly, many of these young people are mistreated and raped along the way!   Continue reading “Real Immigration Reform: What’s Missing”

The Hot and Cold War

Russia’s President Vladimer Putin is hot, red hot.

United States’ president Brack Obama is cold, stone cold.

After Russia’s takeover of Crimea, Putin is more popular than ever in the motherland.  After Obama’s capitulation, his poll numbers are at an all-time low.

The buff, bare-chested Putin, a former martial arts master and K.G.B. colonel, has attained rock-star status. Meanwhile, his lanky American counterpart, the former community organizer and pick-up basketball player, looks weak and strangely out of place in a world where the strong survive and the weak get trampled.

If this were bowling, Putin just had a 300 game, while his opponent rolled nothing but gutter balls.  If it were baseball, Putin pitched a perfect game while Obama struck out.   Continue reading “The Hot and Cold War”

Hillary Clinton’s Soft Underbelly

President Hillary in 2016?  While some see this as inevitable, color me skeptical.

Hillary has a soft underbelly of supporting Marxist groups and sympathizers. A part of that underbelly was exposed last week when she endorsed Bill de Blasio for New York City mayor.  The Democrat nominee is considered the odds on favorite for the top spot in the Big Apple.  The former First Lady rarely gives her endorsement so this one is curious indeed.

Why did she go the extra mile and give this man her stamp of approval? Continue reading “Hillary Clinton’s Soft Underbelly”

Syria: Obama’s Bubba Imitation

It is popular in some circles to draw comparisons between Obama’s proposed action against Syria to Bush 43’s war in Iraq.  A far better example would be Clinton’s bombing of Iraq.  Even better: Clinton’s war on Kosovo.

Obama is simply following his Democratic idol in this latest wag-the-dog exercise.

For the uninitiated, “Wag the Dog” was a black comedy produced by Barry Levinson, starring Dustin Hoffman and Robert De Niro that, in 2008, became a classic case of life imitating art. Continue reading “Syria: Obama’s Bubba Imitation”

Sending Assad to Bed without Supper

Obama’s message to Assad is a classic.

It is tantamount to a mom who lacks the intestinal fortitude to discipline a naughty child.  Instead of simply taking care of a problem when it happens, she stamps her foot and tells her youngster, “When your dad get’s home, he is going o punish you!”

For the first time in his four plus years as president, Obama has suddenly gone all constitutional on us.

He drew a red line on the use of chemical weapons for Syria’s dictator Bashar Assad again, and again.  In fact, there is evidence that this red line has been crossed as many as 14 times.

After losing face on the world stage, Obama beat his chest and announced that he is finally going to “punish” Assad with the help of some of our allies.  Our best friends turned their backs on him and refused to participate (another embarrassment).   There was more chest pounding as our warships moved into position.  Then, Obama suddenly calls a halt to the operation in order to ask permission from Congress.  Obama simply did not have the stomach to go it alone.

In this case, Obama is the mom  (the one in the frilly undershorts) and Congress is the dad.   Continue reading “Sending Assad to Bed without Supper”

Supporting Democracy — Only when it suits Us

The U.S. has gone halfway around the world to spread democracy.  Too bad, we don’t practice what we preach a little closer to home.

It is unconscionable that freedom loving Americans could be standing toe to toe with Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez and Cuba’s Castro brothers in the effort to undermine the people of Honduras as they fight to keep their country free.

It is incredulous that we are insisting that this poor country reinstate Manuel Zelaya, who was forcibly removed from power on June 29, after he attempted to subvert the constitution and hold a referendum to make himself president for life.
