In Search of Justice

Last Friday, President Obama made an unscheduled appearance during the daily White House press briefing to say that he had spoken with David Souter and announced to those assembled that the Supreme Court justice would retire this year.  Reporters interrupted their presidential swoon to feign surprise. What a spontaneous moment!  The president quickly whipped out a carefully crafted speech designed to fool us, again, and read it word for word. Continue reading “In Search of Justice”

Is the U.S. A Christian Nation?

On Monday, Barack Obama’s U.S. apology tour, stopped in Turkey where he caused quite a stir.  In a press conference, in a shaky attempt to be all things to all people, he said this:  “Although we have a very large Christian population, we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values.” Continue reading “Is the U.S. A Christian Nation?”

About Your Tax Cut

“A chicken in every pot” is the temptation waved under the noses of voters by politicians of every political stripe. It’s an alluring promise. Little wonder that the average life of a democracy is a mere 200 years.

Americans are smart enough to realize that there is no such thing as something for nothing. Barack Obama was elected on the idea that he was going to reward 95 percent of us at the expense of the top 2 percent, those making more than $200,000 per year. What could be wrong with that?

It was an easy sell to the 95 percent on the receiving end of that promise. Now it’s time to deliver the goods in the form of tax cuts for all but the very wealthy.

So, just how much is that tax cut really worth? Continue reading “About Your Tax Cut”

Obama’s Plan to Stimulate Poverty

For argument’s sake, let’s say that Obama’s plan to save the economy by raising taxes on the most productive segments of our society, creating millions of useless government jobs, and subsidizing windmills and failing companies actually works.   In a year or two, the country is experiencing a period of economic growth.  The stock market is skyrocketing.  Home sales are booming  and jobs are plentiful.  Will we have more or fewer people on welfare?

The answer would appear to be obvious: “Why fewer, of course.”  Most reasonable people would expect that to be the goal, but if that is your final answer, you would be wrong. Continue reading “Obama’s Plan to Stimulate Poverty”

Barack Obama: The First “Feminist” President

If you think Barack Obama is the first black president, you have a short memory.

In 1993, Bill Clinton was enshrined by the “left” as the first black president and the left never makes a mistake, at least one it will admit.

Nevertheless, Barack Obama has made his mark on history. He’s the first “feminist” president. Continue reading “Barack Obama: The First “Feminist” President”

The ACORN and the Obama Tree

An ACORN doesn’t fall far from the tree so Obama — the big oak on whom the Democrats have pinned their hopes — is trying to kick it as far away as he possibly can.

Ties between Obama and ACORN – the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now – are legion. However, now that ACORN’s part in the sub prime mortgage mess has been exposed and the group’s voter registration programs have become an object of public scorn, the junior senator from Illinois is trying to throw ACORN overboard as he did his former pastor and a laundry list of other unseemly characters. Continue reading “The ACORN and the Obama Tree”

Vote for Barack Obama

Vote for Barack Obama if . . . you want to pay higher taxes.

Obama is claiming that he will not raise taxes on individuals making less than $200,000 per year. However, his plan will punish several hundred thousand small business and family farms that are not incorporated but pay the individual rate. Small business is an important engine that drives our economy and creates jobs. Continue reading “Vote for Barack Obama”

Obama Panders to Whiney Women

Real women take responsibility for their actions: Whiney women blame others.
Real women don’t ask for special favors: Whiney women break in line.
Real women make informed choices: Whiney women make excuses.

Are you a “real woman” or a “whiney woman”? Before you answer that question, take this short presidential quiz: Continue reading “Obama Panders to Whiney Women”
