The Green Screen President

The average moviegoer is ill-equipped to tell the difference between live-action filmed on location and that which is created in the air-conditioned comfort and safe environment of a film studio. In such an environment, there is no danger. The attacking forces or impending peril is simply projected on a green screen behind the actors whose movements are carefully choreographed by a script.

That was the vision that came to mind Tuesday when our president was escorted to a podium in the safe confines of the United Nations’ building in New York to give an address against the familiar backdrop of its green marble wall. Continue reading “The Green Screen President”

Trickle-Down Dysphoria: Inside the mind of Barack Obama

On September 14, 2011, Barack Obama was addressing a crowd of students at North Carolina State University when he said, “If you love me, you’ve got to help me pass this bill.”

Obama was not elected to be loved. He was elected to perform the duties of the office and defend the Constitution. He also was elected to lead us out of the worst recession since the Great Depression. He has done a poor job. In fact, his policies and political rhetoric have brought us to the brink of economic disaster, driven our two major political parties farther apart and divided the country along racial and ethnic lines that may take years or decades to repair.

Many were puzzled by this odd statement from an American president. However, Dr. Paul Fick, the renowned clinical and forensic psychologist from Laguna Niguel, Calif., who often brings clarity to the political arena, says it is “completely comprehensible” when viewed from the perspective of Obama’s troubled childhood.

It was Fick, who, in his1995 book, “The Dysfunctional President,” correctly predicted that Bill Clinton would, during his time in office, act out sexually in a manner that would risk his presidency.

In his latest book, “The Destructive President,”Fick makes a compelling case that Obama’s need for love that was left unfulfilled has led him to attempt to control others in order to have a feeling that he is loved, however temporary.

Obama’s failure to resolve his childhood pain, resulting from rejection, abandonment, maternal neglect, multiple moves and divorces, and an alienation regarding religion, race and socioeconomic status resulted in the “victim logic” that has been the dominant theme of his 2012 campaign. Far more damaging is that these unresolved emotional issues have produced an “inner rage” that resulted in an outright “hatred for his country.” Continue reading “Trickle-Down Dysphoria: Inside the mind of Barack Obama”

It IS all about the Platform (not the Personality or the Party)

I find it a bit ironic that leading Democrat spokespeople are now downplaying the importance of their party’s platform, particularly since they spent a good portion of last week talking about the “extreme” Republican Platform.

The truth is this election, and every election, is all about the platform. A platform is to the candidate, what the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are to the United States of America. The platform is what each candidate is all about, what he supports and promises to do if elected to assume (or continue in) the role of the nation’s chief executive. Obama Women: Clueless Government Gals

Barack Obama is going to war with Mitt Romney. He isn’t fighting this war himself. He is fighting it with some women. Not just any women, he has a brigade of women who cannot or will not think for themselves.

They pick their president the way a seven-year-old picks her Barbie Doll. They think Obama is cute and swoon over meaningless phrases like “hope and change.” They have bought into his class warfare rhetoric, the old zero-sum game. I am poor (or not as comfortable as I’d like to be) because someone else is rich. Obama has promised to punish the rich and these women believe the rich deserve it. Democrats Demand Your Fair Share

I was born into the Democrat Party. When I became old enough to question my family’s political roots, I was told, “Democrats are the party that cares about working people and the poor.” That was good enough for me until I reached the age reason and began to think for myself.

It was all a big lie!

I am not saying that my family deliberately lied to me. It was just that they had accepted the conventional wisdom of the day, which is still hanging around.

“Repeat a lie often enough and it will be believed.” The theory espoused by Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda minister has been used effectively by politicians of all political stripes but most effectively by Democrats in this country to create a dependent class. Obama Picked Paul Ryan

Obama has no one to blame but himself.   While Romney was mulling over a list of possible running mates, it was the president who made the selection of Paul Ryan inevitable.

Shortly after Romney became the presumptive GOP nominee, Obama had his surrogates out trying to tie the former Massachusetts governor to the dreaded Ryan budget.   It was not difficult as Romney had praised Ryan’s effort and did not try to distance himself from the affable Wisconsin Republican.

Fear began to set in.  Ryan had a plan that not only included shrinking the size of the federal budget but, horrors,  reforming entitlements.  Obama had done zilch!   Aaaagh! Continue reading “Obama Picked Paul Ryan”

How to Solve the Housing Crisis

President Obama inherited the worst recession since the Great Depression, but he has done nothing to get us out of the current economic mess.  After 3 ½ years,  he now owns the economy and the outlook is terrible.

The root cause of the recession was the housing crisis and it remains the housing crisis.  Though certain areas have shown a slight uptick, it’s far from over.   Until the housing crisis is solved, we can’t move on.

Obama’s  failed policies have best been described by housing experts at the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University as “extend and pretend.” Continue reading “How to Solve the Housing Crisis”

Where was God?

The tragic shooting in Aurora, Colo., has led many to ask the question, “Where was God?”

The simple answer is God is where He has always been – in His kingdom and here with those who call on His name and seek to do His will. His covenant name, Yahweh, in the Old Testament, means “The One Who Is Always Present.”

In times like these, those who have questioned God’s very existence suddenly turn in to “true believers” in order to place the blame squarely on His shoulders. Continue reading “Where was God?”

Gutting Welfare Reform: No laughing matter!

There is a new political joke going around.

Question: What is the difference between Romney supporters and  Obama supporters?

Answer: Romney supporters sign the front of their checks.  Obama supporters sign the back of their checks.

It would not be funny, if it were not oh so true.  It is a sad fact that, today, over half of our population is cashing Uncle Sam’s checks.  Some of those people work for the government.  Others live off the government. Continue reading “Gutting Welfare Reform: No laughing matter!”

Where Have All the Workers Gone?

(With apologies to Pete Seeger)

Where have all the workers gone?

Long time passing

Where have all the workers gone?

Long time ago

Where have all the workers gone?

Governments have hid them every one.

When will we ever learn?

When will we ever learn?

What’s wrong with this picture?

For the last three years, under an Obama Administration, the unemployment rate has been stuck in the 8 percent range.  During that time the U.S. population has grown by some 8 million people.  However, the labor force participation rate – the number of people who have jobs or are actively looking for one, compared with the total working-age population  – has now shrunk to 63.8 percent.   That’s the lowest level in 30 years.
