I was born in what was then a deep blue state, into a Democratic family. Among my kin you were either a Democrat or un-American. As a youngster I asked my parents, “Why are we Democrats?” They answered, “Because Democrats are for the working people.”
My parents both worked very hard and so I just accepted that. When I turned 18, I registered to vote and proudly voted in every election. I didn’t know anything about the issues, but I voted. When I became a parent, I began to study the issues and realized that Democrats were not what they seemed. They supported principles that undermined the working class, small business owners and immigrants who wanted their shot at the American dream. As the years rolled by, these Democrats took positions that were, well, un-American.
Much to my chagrin, I discovered, that Republicans weren’t much better. Although, they talked a good ballgame about law and order, the free enterprise system and protecting the rights of the minority by defending the Constitution, they were afraid to make the case for these beliefs. They were gradually taken over by political correctness and were unwilling to fight for anything for fear of losing their precious seats in Congress and their small grip on what power they had left. The cast of Orange is the New Black reached a new low (even for this disgusting sitcom) this week when it posed wearing “Vaginas Against Trump” T-shirts. These shirts have been available on-line for $16.99 for over a year now. Just an example of the class displayed by some Hillary supporters. And she has the nerve to call Trump supporters “deplorable.”
For the record, I am sick about the choice we face in this election and I stand by all the previous columns I have written criticizing the now Republican nominee. Nevertheless, it is the choice we face and voters are asked to choose between bad and worse. We must choose between someone who has been a womanizer and someone who has enabled a womanizer who actually abused women while holding public office. This is a far more serious offense, not only against these women, but against the offices he held and the public trust. Continue reading “Women: Vote with Your Brains not Your Gentials”
Hillary Clinton is a user. No, to my knowledge she doesn’t do illegal drugs. Her drug of choice is political power and it should be obvious to anyone who is paying attention she has and will use anything or anyone to get it. The best example is her 41 year marriage to a charismatic serial philanderer, who used his charm to become president of the United States and now is attempting to use that charm to secure power again through his dutifully addicted wife.
After failing to pass the bar exam in Washington, D.C., Hillary managed to pass a much easier one in Arkansas and, at that point, decided to hitch her wagon to Bill Clinton, who was running for a seat in the United States Congress. Although Bill lost that election, two years later he was elected attorney general and then governor of the state. It was a perfect setup. Hillary was made a partner in the Rose Law Firm where she served as “rainmaker,” securing wealthy clients for the firm who, in turn, wanted favors from the state. My husband and I share something in common with Bill and Hillary Clinton. We spent our honeymoon in Haiti. It was on that trip that we first encountered real poverty, the likes of which most U.S. citizens have never seen or even imagined.
After the overthrow of the Duvalier regime, we had great hope for the country but, alas, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, who was elected democratically in 1990, turned into one of the most brutal dictators in Haiti’s history. Bill Clinton often claimed that he “restored democracy to Haiti.” In truth, by forcing Aristide back on these people in 1994, the country was left worse off than ever before. When you open the refrigerator and it stinks, you know something is rotten in there. Likewise, when the FBI failed to recommend that Hillary Clinton be prosecuted, you know something is rotten in our government.
If you still think the FBI and the Justice Department are independent from the White House and political pressure as they were designed to be, either you just crawled out from under a rock or you are hopelessly naive.
Days before the FBI made its findings public, Obama announced that he was endorsing Hillary Clinton to be his successor. In fact, he was getting ready to board Air Force One with her to begin campaigning in North Carolina as the FBI press conference began.
Now I asked you, would Obama have made that announcement and made plans to join her campaign if he had not been assured that she would be cleared of criminal wrongdoing? Would he have risked having such a blemish on his record for the sake of a few days? Continue reading “It Stinks! (The Case Against Hillary Clinton”
Marco Rubio was exactly right when he said Barack Obama knows “exactly what he’s doing.” He may have repeated himself three times too many in the New Hampshire debate, but the point Rubio made to counter his GOP opponents’ attack on his inexperience was spot on.
This should in no way be taken as an endorsement for the junior senator from Florida. I believe that there is a good chance Rubio will be the eventual nominee. However, he lost me when he dismissed the anchor baby problem by sweeping it under the ambiguous 14th Amendment.
Nevertheless, Rubio is right about Barack Obama. He is without a doubt the most transformational president since Ronald Reagan. Continue reading “Marco Rubio was Right”
The recent revelations about Bill Cosby have turned the nation’s decades-long love-affair with the actor into one of disgust, even repulsion. This begs the question: How long before the nation’s decades-long love-affair with the nation’s 40th president will come to an equally abrupt end?
The sordid stories of the sexual escapades of Bill Cosby and Bill Clinton are strikingly similar:
- Both men held powerful positions in their respective fields which they abused again and again with no accountability.
- Both men were surrounded by staff at various levels who were willing to coverup, if not facilitate, their encounters with vulnerable women. Continue reading “The Cosby-Clinton Connection”
