Mother Teresa, Hillary and You

Here in this country we spend over a trillion dollars a year on poverty programs.  Over 45 million people in the United States are classified as “poor.”  However, most of our citizens have never seen real poverty or know what it is.  My eyes were opened when I visited Haiti in 1968, and again in 1985, when I visited India, the country adopted by Mother Teresa.

Unlike Mother Teresa, I did not go to India willingly.  I struggled with the Lord for weeks before I agreed to make that journey in order to help Siloam International, now Childcare Worldwide, with a fundraising film.   That was a life-changing event for me.

Three years later I had an opportunity to meet Mother Teresa and pray with her.   The woman, who was canonized by the Catholic Church Sunday, went to St. Louis, Missouri, to speak to the annual conference of the Presbyterian Church USA about its pro-abortion stance.  She was invited by Presbyterians Pro-Life, a small group of reformers seeking to bring the denomination back to its biblical roots.

PPL is a dedicated group.  It didn’t have any money but she came anyway because, in her words, “As to my calling I belong to the world. As to my heart, I belong entirely to the heart of Jesus.” Continue reading “Mother Teresa, Hillary and You”

Hillary Clinton Hypocrisy on the Wage Gap (The Democrats Political Unicorn)

I was having brunch with some new, very accomplished, female friends when the subject of the presidential race came up.  One of these friends announced that she was a Democrat because she believes in equality.

Women now control 51 percent of all wealth in the U.S.  They hold 52 percent of management and professional positions.  They earn more degrees of higher learning and own 30 percent of all private businesses.  Still, one of the key myths promoted every election cycle is the wag gap.  It’s the  political unicorn used to persuade millions of women that they are victims of inequality and they need Democrats like Hillary Clinton to save them.   Like the legendary horse from classical antiquity, it doesn’t exist.   Continue reading “Hillary Clinton Hypocrisy on the Wage Gap (The Democrats Political Unicorn)”

Why the Gender-Gap is Bigger than Ever (Can It Be Erased)

Democrats are counting on the votes of women to put them over the top in the 2016 election, not simply in the presidential race, but in the House and Senate races as well.  Polls show that the gender gap is larger this year, with many more women preferring Democrat candidates than men.  In the last 36 years, that gap has averaged about 8 percent, but this year experts predict that it could double.

Is it simply the fact that a woman is at the top of the ticket for the first time in the history of either party?  Most women are not that easily swayed.  It is the fact that, up until now, the debate over who should be president has centered on the personalities involved, not on the issues that affect our everyday lives.

In the primary, we saw a successful businessman who relied on his bravado when he did not have a solid grasp of these issues, even the ones he strongly favored.   Recently, the more thoughtful Donald Trump — to his credit — has walked back many of his initial statements, as well he should.

Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton doubled down on the lies surrounding her emails, Benghazi and the all too obvious pay-for-play connection between the State Department and the Clinton Foundation — the dubious charity that served as a slush fund to keep her family and former staffers living lives of luxury between political appointments.

Still, that gender gap exists and may be difficult to overcome for the following reasons: Continue reading “Why the Gender-Gap is Bigger than Ever (Can It Be Erased)”

The other Name for #Never Trump

I am, like most voters, aghast at the choice we have for president in the 2016 election.  We all knew the Democrats would wind up with Hillary Clinton.  The Democratic primary was rigged from the start and nothing was going to stop her coronation.

The Republicans, on the other hand, had a plethora of excellent candidates and, with one or two exceptions, I would have been happy with any of them.  Unfortunately, with the compressed primary, the large field and thoughtful voters divided, the GOP ended up with Donald Trump, the brash, billionaire egomaniac.

Like it or not, Clinton or Trump is the choice each and every voter faces.  GOP and small government-leaning Democrats who choose not to vote for president, on principle, are, in effect, casing a vote for Hillary Clinton.   Continue reading “The other Name for #Never Trump”

Clinton Crimes in Haiti

My husband and I share something in common with Bill and Hillary Clinton.    We spent our honeymoon in Haiti.  It was on that trip that we first encountered real poverty, the likes of which most U.S. citizens have never seen or even imagined.

After the overthrow of the Duvalier regime, we had great hope for the country but, alas, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, who was elected democratically in 1990, turned into one of the most brutal dictators in Haiti’s history.  Bill Clinton often claimed that he “restored democracy to Haiti.”  In truth, by forcing Aristide back on these people in 1994, the country was left worse off than ever before.    Continue reading “Clinton Crimes in Haiti”

It Stinks! (The Case Against Hillary Clinton

When you open the refrigerator and it stinks, you know something is rotten in there.  Likewise, when the FBI failed to recommend that Hillary Clinton be prosecuted, you know something is rotten in our government.

If you still think the FBI and the Justice Department are independent from the White House and political pressure as they were designed to be, either you just crawled out from under a rock or you are hopelessly naive.

Days before the FBI made its findings public, Obama announced that he was endorsing Hillary Clinton to be his successor.  In fact, he was getting ready to board Air Force One with her to begin campaigning in North Carolina as the FBI press conference began.

Now I asked you, would Obama have made that announcement and made plans to join her campaign if he had not been assured that she would be cleared of criminal wrongdoing?  Would he have risked having such a blemish on his record for the sake of a few days?   Continue reading “It Stinks! Supremes Move Back Alley to Main Street

I remember it as though it were yesterday.  I developed a fever and stomach cramps.  Assuming it was the flu, I went to bed to sleep it off.   When my husband came home and found me with a temperature of over 103 degrees, he insisted on taking me to the doctor despite my objections.

Upon examination, my doctor determined I had a dangerous infection and left a waiting room full of  patients to accompany us to the hospital while his staff called ahead.  Once there, I was immediately placed in a room, where my own doctor ran tests and administered emergency treatment himself without waiting for the hospital staff to determine my condition or be brought up to speed.  I later learned that these measures likely saved my life. The Cosby-Clinton Connection

The recent revelations about Bill Cosby have turned the nation’s decades-long love-affair with the actor into one of disgust, even repulsion.   This begs the question:  How long before the nation’s decades-long love-affair with the nation’s 40th president will come to an equally abrupt end?

The sordid stories of the sexual escapades of Bill Cosby and Bill Clinton are strikingly similar:

  • Both men held powerful positions in their respective fields which they abused again and again with no accountability.
  • Both men were surrounded by staff at various levels who were willing to coverup, if not facilitate, their encounters with vulnerable women.  Continue reading “The Cosby-Clinton Connection”

Hillary Clinton: Too Big to Jail?

The American people are still smarting over the federal bailout of financial institutions that were largely responsible for the 2007 financial crisis, simply because they were deemed to be “too big to fail.”

Now, just eight years later, there is a new crisis at the very center of our government where the guilty party could skate by with a simple slap on the wrist simply because she may be deemed “too big to jail.”

We now know that Hillary Clinton lied, or more charitably, misspoke, when she told us empathetically that she did not send or receive any classified information on her personal email server which was kept at her home in Chappaqua, New York, while serving as secretary of state.   This is incredulous since we also know that she used this private server exclusively instead of the secure server at the State Department during her time there. Trump’s Biggest Deal

(2008 Clinton Campaign ad)

It’s 3 A.M., and your children are safe and asleep but there’s a phone and  it’s ringing in the White House . . .

(Implication:  Whom do you want to answer?)

In 2017, if Hillary Clinton is in the White House, she will pick up the phone when it’s from Donald Trump.  She will owe him, big time, and she likely will do whatever he asks.

If Donald Trump runs as a third party candidate, the man who brags about owning politicians will own this president of the United States because he will have put her there.   If he plays his cards right, he could become the richest man in the world at our expense.  Currently on the Forbes 500, Trump is 405th.  Continue reading “Trump’s Biggest Deal”
