The Obama Doctrine: Apologize, Bend over… Oops!

Most post-WWII presidents have put forth doctrines designed to sum up their foreign policy challenges and solutions.

The Truman Doctrine: Support capitalism and fight against communism around the globe.

The Eisenhower Doctrine: Provide economic or military aid to any country that is being threatened by armed aggression from another state. Continue reading “The Obama Doctrine: Apologize, Bend over… Oops!”

Open Letter to Fox’s Bill O’Reilly

I am a fan.  I have purchased “factor gear” for my husband.  I record your television show and generally see at least half of the program every day. I admire your efforts to stand up for “the folks.”  It is little wonder that your show is the number one program out of all the cable news channels.

I thank you for your coverage on George Tiller and how he made his blood money.

However, in your effort to be fair, balanced and factual you often tie yourself up in knots on the issue of abortion and I beg you to reconsider the language you use in debating this issue in order to be consistent and clear while remaining on solid scientific ground. Schwarzenegger and the Doomsday Scenario

California has a $24.3 billion deficit. That’s more that the Gross Domestic Product of at least half of the countries in the world. The governator finally has come up with a good idea. Instead of rasing taxes again, which depresses revenue and kills jobs, Arnold Schwarzenegger wants to cut spending. Imagine that!

The terminator even wants to terminate welfare! Continue reading “Schwarzenegger and the Doomsday Scenario”

Tiller and his Assassin: The similarities

On Sunday, George Tiller, the late-term Kansas abortionist, was killed in the lobby of the Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita while serving as an usher.

The man who reportedly took his life was 51-year-old Scott Roeder. What do Tiller and his assassin have in common?  On the surface, nothing; below the surface, everything. Continue reading “Tiller and his Assassin: The similarities”

Christians and Government

“Let every person be in subjection to governing authorities.  For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.”  Roman 13:1

A pastor of a very large church recently chastised his congregation for its preoccupation with and involvement in the affairs of government.  He said that politics is a Christian “brain cramp.”

Using the text of Romans 13:1 and I Peter 2: 13-17, he told the people in his flock that if they failed to submit to any governmental authority they were in rebellion against God. Continue reading “Christians and Government”

In Search of Justice

Last Friday, President Obama made an unscheduled appearance during the daily White House press briefing to say that he had spoken with David Souter and announced to those assembled that the Supreme Court justice would retire this year.  Reporters interrupted their presidential swoon to feign surprise. What a spontaneous moment!  The president quickly whipped out a carefully crafted speech designed to fool us, again, and read it word for word. Continue reading “In Search of Justice”

Senate put on Tea Bag Alert

A warning went out earlier this month from the Sergeant at Arms to Chiefs of Staff, Staff Directors, Administrative Managers and Chief Clerks in the United States Senate. It was short and to the point.

Suspicious Characteristics Mailing (Tea Bags)

The Senate Post Office has recently seen an influx of envelopes containing tea bags addressed to Senate offices. The envelopes have been irradiated, X-rayed, opened and tested by the Senate Post Office and have been cleared and deemed safe for delivery. However, it is possible some of the envelopes may have loose tea inside.

If you have any questions or concerns about this mailing
you may contact the United States Capitol Police Threats Assessment Section at 4-1495.

Yes, thanks to your efforts the Senate has been put on a tea bag alert! Continue reading “Senate put on Tea Bag Alert”

After the Tea Party

Congratulations to all who participated in the nation-wide tea party protests.

Yes, you were heard, but in order to have a lasting effect, there must be a follow through.

If there had been no follow through after the 1773 protest in Boston Harbor –  no addition protests, no convening of the First Continental Congress, no Revolutionary War – there would be no United States of America. Continue reading “After the Tea Party”
