Obama’s Comments as troubling as those of his Pastor

Barack Obama wants us to believe that he slept through 20 years of angry venom spewed out by his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright from the pulpit of his church. Obama’s larger task will be to convince us that he was asleep while writing parts of his first book, Dreams from My Father. Continue reading “Obama’s Comments as troubling as those of his Pastor”

The story behind Obama’s rise to power

Have you ever wondered how a little known state legislator, who got his lunch handed to him in 2000 when he ran for a congressional seat, managed to become a U.S. Senator in four short years, and a presidential contender in eight?

You might say that there are 435 senators-in-waiting in the U.S. House of Representatives, all biding their time for a shot at becoming one of the 100 most important lawmakers in this country.  Some have been trying for years to find a way to make the jump to the elite upper chamber of Congress  So just how, exactly, did Barack Obama manage to pull off this feat? I am Woman hear me Whine!

Thanks to Hillary Rodham Clinton, Helen Reddy will have to go back and rewrite the feminist’s theme song she penned in the early 70s. “I am Woman Hear Me Roar” obviously doesn’t cut it anymore.

With her back against the wall before the Democrat presidential primary in New Hampshire, Hillary cried. With her back against the wall in Texas, she whined. Continue reading “I am Woman hear me Whine!”

Don’t Buy the Cookies!

I used to dread this time of year. In the month of March, Girl Scouts are out in force in their smart little green and brown uniforms selling cookies. There was a time I would buy a box from every girl I encountered as a payback for my positive scouting experience.

However, buying that box of cookies now presents a moral dilemma as the Girl Scouts have become a training ground for the left-wing feminist agenda.

How McCain can woo Conservatives AND keep Independents

While conservatives were holding the line they drew in the sand to keep the very liberal Rudy Giuliani from gaining the Republican nomination, John McCain did an end run around us. While I, like Mike Huckabee, believe in miracles, it appears we will be stuck with McCain, warts and all.

In short, as president, he will do a lot less damage to the country than Hillary or Obama and most conservatives like me will end up voting for him, but we are not happy about it.

That kind of lukewarm response is not likely to get him elected. In order to win, he needs the party faithful to give until it hurts and work until they drop in order to get out the vote. Continue reading “How McCain can woo Conservatives AND keep Independents”

The Real Meaning of Love

Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love.

Love is a necessary ingredient in the life of every individual. Many years ago it was discovered that tiny babies need love. Babies left in orphanages or hospitals, without the warmth of a loving stroke or tender embrace, did not thrive.

Ask most people what they want out of life and it all boils down to this four-letter word, to love and to be loved!

The use of this one little word has the power to lift our spirits or send us into the depths of despair. It’s a word that has an enormous impact on our lives. However, its true meaning is often misunderstood.

Why Do Conservatives Eat (some) of their Young?

One of the problems with our government is that it often rewards bad behavior and punishes success. This never works.

Conservatives are fond of pointing this out, so why, in this primary season, are many conservatives punishing the good behavior of one of the candidates. We have lost our way and, as a result, the GOP presidential nomination likely will go to one of the most liberal candidates. Continue reading “Why Do Conservatives Eat (some) of their Young?”

Mitt and Huck: Time to Team UP!

The conservative credentials of Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee have been called into question. The way to get beyond this and excite the base is for these two men to team up.

It is no secret that there is no love loss between them. However, both are men of faith. Therefore, each should be able to forgive the others transgressions, put their differences behind them and join forces to fight for the principles in which they claim to believe. Presidential Politics and the Barbie Doll-GI Joe Effect

The average American puts as much thought into selecting a  president as a seven-year-old puts into selecting a Barbie Doll.  It’s a beauty contest!  In fact, Mattel was roundly criticized in 1992, and again in 2000, for coming out with a “Presidential Candidate Barbie.”

Don’t blame Mattel.  We have come to expect the candidate who gets our vote will have the  movie-star good looks of Barbie, her boyfriend Ken or his macho rival from Hasbro, GI Joe.   Continue reading “Presidential Politics and the Barbie Doll-GI Joe Effect”

Have Voters Lost their Minds?

John McCain has come back from the dead and, despite a second place finished in Michigan, now leads all other GOP candidates in the national polls.

Have voters lost their minds? Do they suffer from collective amnesia? Have their brains been taken over by space aliens?

After McCain combined forces with Ted Kennedy to try to ram an amnesty bill down our throats, he was Public Enemy Number One!

McCain hasn’t changed his position nor have we. Illegal immigration is at or near the top of almost every national or state list of GOP voter concerns.

What are voters thinking? Obviously, they are not thinking at all. Continue reading “Have Voters Lost their Minds?”
