Clinton Crimes in Haiti

My husband and I share something in common with Bill and Hillary Clinton.    We spent our honeymoon in Haiti.  It was on that trip that we first encountered real poverty, the likes of which most U.S. citizens have never seen or even imagined.

After the overthrow of the Duvalier regime, we had great hope for the country but, alas, Jean-Bertrand Aristide, who was elected democratically in 1990, turned into one of the most brutal dictators in Haiti’s history.  Bill Clinton often claimed that he “restored democracy to Haiti.”  In truth, by forcing Aristide back on these people in 1994, the country was left worse off than ever before.    Continue reading “Clinton Crimes in Haiti”

Mike Pence: The Left’s New Bogeyman

To say that the left is adamantly against Mike Pence, Donald Trump’s running mate, is to state the obvious. However, in the days since the Indiana governor was chosen, liberals have been having conniptions for fear that this unassuming, soft-spoken, likable Hoosier, might be able to sway some to, horrors, vote Republican.

Pence is their new bogeyman, one to be feared more than ISIS, more than corporate greed, even more than the greatest threat to mankind — global warming.

Eric Schmeltzer, writing for the Huffington Post called him “Sarah Palin (a popular left-wing target) without the charisma.” Whooo!

Schmeltzer again on his blog: “It isn’t so much that Mike Pence is a lightweight in the brains department. It’s that Mike Pence is a lightweight in the brains department and also ridiculously incompetent.” Double whooo! Continue reading “Mike Pence: The Left’s New Bogeyman”

What Obama Should Say (But He Won’t)

There so much hope that we would finally heal what was left of the racial divide that exists in this country when Barack Obama was elected president of the United States.  That’s why many threw caution to the wind and voted for a poorly qualified man with Marxist tendencies to lead us.  That’s why so many were willing to stick with him for another four years.  Surely, he would finally come through . . . but he hasn’t.

His speech yesterday in Dallas was, without a doubt, one of his best.  However, after extolling the virtues of  the Dallas police and the fallen, he simply couldn’t resist the temptation to legitimize those who feel the police are out to get them as he has done many times before.  Continue reading “What Obama Should Say (But He Won’t)”

It Stinks! (The Case Against Hillary Clinton

When you open the refrigerator and it stinks, you know something is rotten in there.  Likewise, when the FBI failed to recommend that Hillary Clinton be prosecuted, you know something is rotten in our government.

If you still think the FBI and the Justice Department are independent from the White House and political pressure as they were designed to be, either you just crawled out from under a rock or you are hopelessly naive.

Days before the FBI made its findings public, Obama announced that he was endorsing Hillary Clinton to be his successor.  In fact, he was getting ready to board Air Force One with her to begin campaigning in North Carolina as the FBI press conference began.

Now I asked you, would Obama have made that announcement and made plans to join her campaign if he had not been assured that she would be cleared of criminal wrongdoing?  Would he have risked having such a blemish on his record for the sake of a few days?   Continue reading “It Stinks! Supremes Move Back Alley to Main Street

I remember it as though it were yesterday.  I developed a fever and stomach cramps.  Assuming it was the flu, I went to bed to sleep it off.   When my husband came home and found me with a temperature of over 103 degrees, he insisted on taking me to the doctor despite my objections.

Upon examination, my doctor determined I had a dangerous infection and left a waiting room full of  patients to accompany us to the hospital while his staff called ahead.  Once there, I was immediately placed in a room, where my own doctor ran tests and administered emergency treatment himself without waiting for the hospital staff to determine my condition or be brought up to speed.  I later learned that these measures likely saved my life. Public Schools: How We Lost Them

If anyone causes one of these little ones–those who believe in me–to stumble, it would be better for them if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.  Mark 9:42

It’s little wonder that children in public schools from religious households are likely to dabble with all manner of sexual activity before they graduate.  In many, if not most, school districts they are constantly being told that anything-goes-as-long-as-it-goes-with-a-condom and that one lifestyle is just as good as another.  It’s a constant drumbeat from kindergarten through high school.

Our young people are being pushed to experiment with both sexes to find out if they are straight or gay.  Then, they are told that bisexuality may be their true nature.  If none of that works, why not try identifying with the opposite gender?   Now, the Department of Education has informed schools that they must let students use the restroom or locker room of their choice in order to conduct these experiments or simply sneak a peek at the opposite sex.

It’s little wonder that many Christians have given up on the nation’s public schools.   Others feel trapped and simply try to combat the the anything-goes hedonistic message their children receive at school with a strong moral message at home.  It’s an uphill battle.  Children are in school or involved in school activities some 40 hours a week.  If you subtract the hours they spend sleeping and doing homework, you can readily see the imbalance.   Continue reading “Public Schools: How We Lost Them”

How to Get the Fed out of Our Public Schools

We now know that Omar Mateen, the mass murderer who shot up that gay night club in Orlando, had experimented with homosexuality, visited gay dating sites and was a regular at Pulse.

I would not pretend to know what was going on inside the mind of a man who would do such a thing.  However, we do know that his life was in conflict, born into a strict Muslim family and educated in our public schools which are now training grounds for this kind of sexual activity.

If you are not aware of this fact, than you simply don’t know what is going on in your local school.   Continue reading “How to Get the Fed out of Our Public Schools”

Abolish the Department of Education (No Excuse for Allowing the DOEd to Continue)

Oh, how I long for someone with the wisdom and clarity of Ronald Reagan.   One of his campaign promises was to abolish the federal Department of Education.  He failed, but not for lack of trying.  The Department of Education survived only because Democrats had a lock on the House of Representatives.

Nevertheless, Reagan cut the budget significantly and scaled back its functions.  On one trip to the DOEd during the Reagan years, I asked an employee about her job.  She said, matter-of-factly, “I am going through every regulation issued by the Department and cutting out anything that is not ‘family friendly.’”  Needless to say, it was a full-time endeavor.

If “The Gipper” were alive today one can only imagine the reaction he would have to the DOEd’s letter issued to schools last month telling them that federal law requires them to allow students to use restrooms and locker rooms “consistent with their gender identity.”  The letter, issued in the form of a guideline, does not carry the force of law, but it carries this implied threat:  Do this or risk losing federal funds.

Isn’t it past time we freed public schools and colleges from the tyranny of the federal government?  Why send a dollar to Washington and have it funneled through several layers of this behemoth bureaucracy, only to get back a few cents, along with a boatload of regulations? Continue reading “Abolish the Department of Education (No Excuse for Allowing the DOEd to Continue)”

The Donald vs. The Governor

You are all familiar with the term “sore loser.”  Last week in New Mexico, Donald Trump, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, took aim at the state’s popular Latina governor, Susana Martinez, and showed us what a “sore winner” looks like.

The reality television star just can’t seem to leave well enough alone.   He attempted to bully Susana Martinez into jumping on board his campaign bandwagon.  Yes, his relentless attacks against political rivals and party leaders have worked in the past.  Last weekend “Little Marco” released his delegates to vote for Trump.  Earlier, Ben Carson the “okay doctor;” Chris Christie, the brunt of his fat jokes; along with Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Rick Perry, Rand Paul, Scott Walker and Bobby Jindal have all decided to forgive and forget in order to hitch a ride on the Trump train which appears headed to the White House with its load of political malcontents.

My guess is that this low ball tactic won’t work with Martinez, who would have made an excellent running mate for Trump.  Martinez has had more than her share of insults as she swam upstream in a heavily blue state to the very top spot.   Furthermore, blaming Governor Martinez for New Mexico’s problems is tantamount to blaming the problems in Calcutta on the late Mother Theresa. Trump’s Almost Perfect Running Mate

Dr. Ben Carson, the man Donald Trump put in charge of his search for a running mate, has confirmed that Trump now has “the list.”

One name, who must be on that list is head and shoulders, figuratively not literally, above the rest.

You can scratch Chris Christie, John Kasich and Newt Gingrich, three of the names that have been bantered about most often.  The last thing the real estate mogul needs is another aging white guy on the ticket.

Trump has indicated that he would like to choose someone with political experience.   He would be wise to pick a person who is political savvy, but who is not tainted with the smell of the hated Washington establishment.  He would be wiser still to pick someone who could appeal to the very voters with whom he is weakest: women and Hispanics.   Continue reading “Trump’s Almost Perfect Running Mate”
